Learning to tell the time – for primary school
For children in primary school · the app is in German

Uhr lesen lernen is a learning app for children who are learning to read analogue and digital clocks with confidence. The hour hand is red, short and blunt, the minute hand blue, long and pointed – and the clock face carries both scales in the same colours: red hour numbers inside, the blue minute ring outside.
This aid fades away by design. Step by step the blue ring disappears, until the perfectly ordinary clock is left – the one on the classroom wall.
Three kinds of exercise, 200 practice rounds
- Reading the clock – the clock is set, the child picks the right time
- Setting the clock – the time is spoken, the child turns the hands
- Clock pairs – analogue clock, digital display and spoken time belong together
Step by step from the first look at the clock face to the exact minute, then on to the 24-hour clock – around 1,200 tasks, with both German ways of saying the time (switchable in the parents' area). On first start the child shows what it can already do and begins there. Every task is read aloud – also for children who cannot read yet.
